SSE wind farm extension on hold

SSE insists its decision to put the Keadby wind extension project on hold does not reflect the election results.
Its comment comes as Prime Minister David Cameron previously said he would scrap subsidies for onshore wind farms.
The Keadby wind farm in North Lincolnshire is the largest onshore project in the UK and was officially opened in February.
It has 34 turbines which generate 68MW of electricity.
A spokerperson for SSE said: “There has been some speculation that the decision regarding Keadby Extension has been taken following the election of the new government – however SSE would like to stress that this is not the case.
“This was communicated to the Planning Inspectorate at the time the decision was made but they chose not to formally post this on its website until last week.”
