Disabled people are highly impacted by the twin crises, the energy crisis and the rising cost of living.
According to the latest survey by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), nearly 55% of disabled adults reported finding it difficult to afford their energy bills.
The polling shows that the proportion of all adults struggling with their energy bills has increased throughout the year.
Nearly 45% of all adults who paid energy bills reported these being difficult to afford – this compared to 40% who gave the same answer in the previous wave of the ONS survey (March to June).
The research also found that around six-in-ten renters find it difficult to afford their energy bills.
