RBS saves 10 tonnes of emissions with clean heat
The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has saved more than 10 tonnes of carbon emissions in the last year through an efficient heating innovation.
The bank installed Endo Enterprises’ EndoTherm technology across three of its branches and in doing so, reduced its gas consumption by 29%.
The equipment reduces the energy needed to heat a property by adjusting the surface tension of fuels used, increasing thermal contact and improving heat transfer rates.
It was originally fitted in May 2016 for a year-long pilot test.
The technology’s payback period is said to be less than 12 months, with the product expected to last seven years in total.
Heathrow Airport now plans to install the EndoTherm measures in its own buildings.
