LNG to be good chunk of UK gas supply
More ships are expected to carry plenty of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the British isles, according to the daily market report.
Steven Walker, Client Portfolio Manager said today: “LNG send out continues to account for a significant proportion of the UK supply mix as a number of tankers are set to head towards the UK.”
Markets opened at lower prices again this morning, said Mr Walker, “as UK gas demand within-day is forecast below 200mcm (million cubic meters)”.
That’s despite 21 mcm being exported to Belgium and storage sites set to inject at 18mcm today.
The Linepack – the gas system run by National Grid – is set to close the day with 8mcm worth of gas more than is needed.
Gas demand for electricity generation is again “subdued”, added the analyst.
