Elicio and BayWa r.e. have been selected to tender the first commercial scale floating offshore wind farm in Europe.

The wind farm will be based in Brittany, France and have a capacity of 250MW.

Both companies have been seeking opportunities to enter the floating offshore wind market, almost submitting a joint bid in July during the ‘ScotWind’ offshore wind auction.

Elicio currently manages offshore wind farms with a combined 1.1GW of capacity and BayWa r.e.’s portfolio sits at 4GW of renewable capacity; managing 10GW of assets worldwide.

The new floating offshore wind farm will add to BayWa r.e.’s existing 35MW of wind turbines within Brittany.
