Duke Energy Sustainable Solutions has unveiled plans to build a 250MW solar park in Texas.
Once operational, the project will become the largest utility-scale solar facility in the firm’s portfolio.
The Pisgah Ridge Solar Park is forecast to create around 300 jobs.
A 15-year virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) for 102MW of the plant has already been signed with the pharmaceutical company Charles River Laboratories International.
A further two corporations have signed separate VPPAs for the remaining 148MW of solar energy generated by the project.
Chris Fallon, President of Duke Energy Sustainable Solutions, said: “We’re excited to continue to grow our Texas solar portfolio, which will provide additional energy resources for the citizens of Texas to help meet their growing demand and need for a more diverse energy infrastructure.”
