100,000 homes hit by power cuts in Wales

At least 100,000 householders in Wales have been hit by power cuts today as a result of strong winds in the area.
The Energy Networks Association (ENA) told ELN on land wind speed of over 100 miles an hour has been recorded.
A spokesperson said although engineers are working hard on site to fix the problem, the force of the wind is hindering them.
The Met Office has issued a red weather warning – the most severe level of threat – for “exceptionally strong winds”.
More on ELN tomorrow.
