Private chauffeurs opens door to electric cars

Who knows what Parker would have made of driving an electric motor – but one private chauffeur company in London is betting its customers enjoy the quieter ride.
New operator Thriev has launched a fleet of 20 zero-emission, fully-electric cars, the first 10 of which go into service today.
The e6 cars will be powered by rapid chargers from tech firm BYD plus the London-wide charging network run by British Gas.
Arvind Vij, CEO and a co-founder of the chauffeur firm which opened in September last year said: “Thriev offers its customers a true revolution in transport, using modern technology to offer private hire services. Ultimately, our aim is to provide a zero-emission and cost-effective alternative to private car ownership in congested large cities like London.”
