Statkraft taps into six UK solar energy projects

Norwegian energy firm Statkraft has bought six utility-scale solar projects across the UK, adding 88MW of capacity to its renewable portfolio.
It has entered into a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for the renewable electricity generated from the projects, which have a combined capacity to power around 20,000 homes.
All the solar projects were built by SunEdison, which will continue to provide ongoing management and operations services for the plants.
José Pérez, SunEdison’s President of Europe, Africa and Latin America said: “The UK solar market is growing rapidly as the people of Great Britain are increasingly asking for renewable energy. This PPA will provide Statkraft reliable, predictably priced energy for years to come and help them meet the strengthening demand for renewable energy.”
