Shell has completed the acquisition of Powershop Australia, an online energy company with more than 185,000 customers.

The acquisition will see Powershop operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Shell and represents a further step in the company’s expansion in Australian renewables.

Shell has not disclosed any financial details of its acquisition but has stressed it will boost its low carbon credentials and technological expertise in Australia.
