Concerns are mounting up for energy bill payments as households are facing increasing financial pressure.

That’s according to the latest BEIS Public Attitudes Tracker which shows 64% of people reported being either very worried (29%) or fairly worried (35%) about paying for their electricity bills.

From 1 April 2022, the energy price cap was raised, causing considerable increases in the price of gas and electricity.

Last month, Ofgem‘s Chief Executive Jonathan Brearley predicted the cap on household energy bills is to rise to about £2,800 in October.

According to the survey, women are more likely to be very or fairly worried about energy bills, nearly 69% compared with 60% of men.

People aged 25-54 also are more concerned about the energy bill hikes – almost 74% compared with 60% of those aged 55 and over.

The report also shows that people who are renting are more likely to be worried about energy bulls than people living in their own homes, 71% compared with 63%.
