Iberdrola sells all power from 76MW wind project

Iberdrola Renewables has signed a 25-year contract to supply all of the power from its 76MW wind farm in Colorado.
It will sell the electricity to energy company Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association when the project is completed in 2017.
The Twin Buttes II project will consist of 38 wind turbines, located south of Lamar, Colorado, near Iberdrola Renewables’ existing Twin Buttes Wind Project.
It will produce enough energy to power the equivalent of 30,000 average Colorado households, Iberdola claims.
Val Emick, a landowner at Twin Buttes II and the operating Colorado Green wind farm said: “Wind is the most drought resistant crop we have and it’s delivered valuable economic stability to a number of family farmers and ranchers in the area.”
