First oil production from BG’s platform in India

BG Group has achieved first oil production from its offshore platform in India.
The Mukta-B platform is a four-legged wellhead unnamed platform near the western state of Mumbay.
It includes green technology such as hybrid solar panels and wind turbines for self-sufficient power.
The UK oil and gas company, which has a 30% stake, shares the Panna-Mukta oil and gas fields with two Indian firms ONGC and Reliance Industries.
Shaleen Sharma, President Managing Director at BG India said: “This is a significant milestone for BG India and the culmination of an integrated team effort by all functions and contract parties.”
