The European Investment Bank (EIB) has committed €62 million (£52.74m) to a renewable energy fund.

The deal was signed with Sustainable Sàrl, a subsidiary of SUSI Partners AG (SUSI) and commits EIB funding to the SUSI Renewable Energy Fund II.

It underlines Europe’s strategy to invest in a sustainable, competitive and reliable energy supply. The portfolio currently includes 13 wind and solar farms in the UK, Germany, France, Portugal and Italy, delivering around 170MW in total.

Dr. Tobias Reichmuth, CEO and Founder of SUSI Partners, said: “The EIB plays a pivotal role in our common endeavour to realise the energy transition and its decision to place such a substantial commitment with SUSI Partners is a clear sign of the confidence of large investors we have acquired through our track record in renewable energy financing.”

The fund is involved with projects throughout the EU.
