EDF Energy completes 150MW Turkish wind farm

The renewable arm of power supplier EDF Energy has competed a 150MW wind project in Turkey.
The Geycek wind farm, located in central Anatolia, is expected to help contribute to achieving the nation’s target of installing as much as 20,000MW of wind capacity by 2023.
EDF Energies Nouvelles owns 45% of the project along with a Canadian investor holding the same amount while the remaining 10% is owned by Turkish businessman Adnan Polat’s Batiyel group.
EDF Energy has so far built eight wind farms in Turkey, installing more than 500MW of wind power in the country.
The energy firm’s proposal to build a new wind farm in South Yorkshire was given the go ahead by the local planning authority earlier this month.
