Businesses save £1.23m through water efficiency

Businesses in Scotland saved £1.23 million in the last two years by using water more efficiently.
Resource Efficient Scotland, a support programme funded by the Scottish Government, claims it supported 134 Scottish organisations to save money by reducing water waste.
It also provided tips on how businesses could to be more efficient and is calling on other firms to follow suit.
The recommendations include understanding water bills, reducing use as well as measuring consumption.
The programme also advises companies to examinate their infrastructures to find leaks and faults as well as engage their staff in water waste.
Head of the Resource Efficient Scotland Marissa Lippiatt said: “Water efficiency can often be overlooked by time pressured businesses but we know from our work with organisations across sectors that taking simple steps to reduce water use can lead to huge savings.”
The organisation launched two funding programmes last week to help businesses improve their resource efficiency.
