Collective bargaining campaigners at The Big Deal claims to have cut the cheapest two year fixed deal on the market for 10,000 people.
The group claims it’s the first time a collective switch has created a new “market beating” tariff.
On average £1,055 per year compared to Ofgem’s estimate of the average annual energy bill of £1,346 per year.
The deal will lower the average bill by £291 a year and £582 over two years, said the group.
The 10,000 Big Deal members – more 60% of whom have never or hardly ever switched before – stand to save a collective £5.8 million.
