Siemens to modernise four power plants in Iraq
With 15,700MW of available power generating capacity, the government is working towards improving the availability and reliability of power supply while minimising losses.
Siemens said the multi-million euro service contracts will see the company enhance the efficiency of the seven units, helping them collectively generate more than 1,000MW of power.
That’s 400MW than what they currently produce, with the project also expected to save up to 10% in fuel consumption.
The total production will be enough to supply around three million Iraqi people with electricity.
