What’s the first thing you miss when you get a power cut because of freezing ice storms? Ice cubes, of course…
At least, that’s what one US power company believes is top of the list for customers who remain without power after damaging winter weather swept through Pennsylvania earlier this week.
FirstEnergy was offering customers “three gallons of water and one bag of ice” per household per day at no charge from participating stores.
The barmy hand-out came as power cuts hit at least one million people across the East Coast of the United States with Pennsylvania the worst-hit state.
